As part of my follow-on plan, I asked participants in each group to be on the look out for art projects and crafts in each prefecture. I sent $5 with each group and invited them to write on this website and share their experiences.
(please add to the following by editing this page or create a page about your prefecture - if you have any questions, use the contact part of this wiki http://arteducator.pbwiki.com/contact.php or my contact information) Research about these crafts will be added to this information. Information on Japan's prefectures is available at http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/location/rtg/index.html
Below are each prefecture and the results of the "$5 crafts" - hopefully each group will add to their information. THANKS to all of my researchers and shoppers during this experience and to Madge for her enthusiasm she brought to the project!

Junior High students had painted newspaper and used the painted papers and magazines to create a collage of a person invlved in a sport - very small pieces.
